Black communities are not a monolith.

Afros in tha City exists to reflect the richness, complexity, and diversity of Black life across Canada and the global African diaspora.

We intentionally feature voices from different countries, cultures, languages, generations, professions, faiths, artistic disciplines, and lived experiences.

Representation is not about meeting quotas.

It is about ensuring our publication reflects the communities it serves with authenticity and respect.

We recognize that meaningful representation requires listening before speaking, collaboration before assumption, and curiosity before conclusion.

We are committed to creating space for emerging voices alongside established leaders while documenting stories that contribute to the cultural record.

As our publication grows, we will continue expanding the range of communities, perspectives, and experiences represented in our work.

Diversity is not simply who appears in our pages.

It is reflected in how we report, who we listen to, and whose stories are preserved for future generations.
